Pirate Tower in Laguna Beach is one of the most romantic beaches in Southern California. It is a must if you are thinking to spend a weekend walking along the beach.
Address: Type in "Pirate Tower" on google map
Parking: free parking along the curb across Victoria Beach
*Tip: Make sure you bring a pair of flip flops in case you got wet climbing the rocks
About an hour away outside of Los Angeles, Pirate Tower is a popular spot for wedding and graduation photos. I came on a Saturday afternoon in mid-April, when the weather is perfect for surfing and swimming. The drive was very long and a lot of traffics, so I recommend trying to go earlier before noon or later in the afternoon to see the sunset.
Once you are parked along the curb across from the beach, you will see the stairs leading down toward the beach. Walk down the stairs and follow the sign to get to the entrance closest to the tower.

After you reached down to the beach, you will have to climb pass through a bunch of rocks to see the Pirate Tower. I was a little skeptical about the tower when I saw reviews on yelp and on the internet, but it was 100% worth it when I actually saw it. The view is amazing and romantic!

You can walk under the tower for a close-up view, but there are usually a lot of visitors during weekends. I waited for about an hour to finally get a shot of the tower without anybody near it.
While you are at Victoria Beach, the beach itself is also very pretty. The other side of the tower, there are people surfing and swimming. It's a great place spending an afternoon with families and friends.

Last but not least, I didn't get a chance to walk around the city, but there are many restaurants and shops near the beach that I definitely would want to go visit next time. Overall, if you are looking for some beautiful beach to spend the day, you will have to come check out this mysterious Pirate Tower!
