One of the best places to see Los Angeles skyline is Mulholland Drive. If you are lucky to go up on a clear day, you can see the entire downtown LA and 101 freeway.
Address: Type in "Jerome C. Daniel Overlook above the Hollywood Bowl" on Google Map
Hours: 6am to 9pm
*Tip 1: Limited parking spaces, so it is recommended to come during the weekdays
*Tip 2: Make sure to bring a jacket as it can get windy on top
I went on a Friday evening around 6:30pm, when it was almost sunset. The parking lot is very small, and I was lucky enough to find a spot.

Once parked, you can walk up the stairs to see Los Angeles skyline. On one side, you can see 101 freeway from the top, and on the other side, you can see the "Hollywood" sign.

Whether you decided to stay up to see the sunset or the city view at night, I think this is an awesome place for an evening date!

For photographers who are looking for night city photo shoot or time-lapse, this place is a must! I decided to wait on top to see the night view, and play with some long exposure shots. The view is beautiful!
Unlike the famous Griffith Observatory, Hollywood Bowl Overlook is less crowded, and you can see the skyline with one of LA's busiest freeways. I highly recommend this place!
