Descanso Gardens is a small but beautiful botanical park featuring different gardens such as the most popular Japanese Garden and Rose Garden. Even though the park opens at 9am, you would find lots of people already getting in line for tickets. To avoid waiting in line, you can always purchase the ticket online in advance. However, for train ticket, you will need to purchase it at the information center.

There are always something blooming no matter what season you decided to visit. For more information on what types of flowers are blooming, you can also visit the website where it tells you what kinds of flowers are currently blooming.
I came in early April when the cherry trees are blooming. To avoid all the crowds, I decided to visit the Japanese Garden first. This little garden is stunning with all the cherry blossoms. Once you step into the garden, you will feel like you are traveling in Japan! If you are looking for places to see cherry blossoms, I highly recommend spending a day at Descanso Gardens.

After spending some time in the Japanese Garden, don't forget to experience the famous "Enchanted Railroad". This is a mini train that takes you around the garden. The train comes in every 5 minutes, so even though the line might seem long, but the waiting time is actually only 10-15 minutes.

If somehow the line to the train gets too long, you can always visit some other gardens before coming back to experience it. Other than the Rose Garden, there are many different flowers as you walk around the park not to mention the famous Sturt Haaga Gallery and Boddy House. Unfortunately, the Boddy House was closed for construction when I visited, but I was still very happy to see all the flowers blooming in spring!

Overall, I think this Botanical garden is a perfect place to go with your family, friends, and love ones if you are looking to get out of the busy cities and enjoy the nature!
